I meet this niece after 20 years

Postby bestwriter » 30 Dec 2025, 02:52

I was stunned when there was no reaction from this niece who came for that xmas party I organised when she showed no reaction which normally one sees when one meets after 20 years. What's up with the present generation I say????

The Bitter Truth or the sign of the times !!
We also have many relatives for whom we do not matter "much".
There are many who are entangled in their thoughts and "plans" and do not care about relations or good behavior.

Uncomfortable symptom of breakdown of traditional family values and ties.

honestly might not be a “generation” thing at all, if she barely knows you then 20 years means nothing to her, it’s more your memory than hers… also some people just aren’t expressive or feel awkward in those situations, especially at big gatherings, I wouldn’t take it personal, give it a bit of time and normal convo, reactions usually warm up after that

It's been over 20 years, they might likely not really care or just don't have or know what to say or do around you, so the safest way is to act like it doesn't really matter.
