FIFA Football 2026 World Cup: A Three-Nation Spectacle

Postby ptrikha21 » 30 May 2026, 14:53

The 2026 FIFA World Cup Football introduces an unprecedented format, expanding to 48 teams competing across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

While anticipation builds for this multi-nation tournament, skyrocketing ticket prices and broadcast rights deadlocks generate significant friction.
Fans face record-high costs, with premium tickets projected at $32,970, alongside growing geopolitical anxieties (US-Iran war).
Participation of the Iranian team is not very clear and well, they have their planned matches in US !

Nonetheless, the debut of the advanced "Trionda" official match ball highlights technical innovation amidst these operational challenges.

Let's go Croatia!
From what I can notice, in media most time is mention US as host but how about Canada or Mexico? Nobody write about them.

I hope Croatia does well !
Yes, Canada and Mexico seem to be ignored.
Remember, that Mexico by itself had hosted the 1986 world cup remembered for Diego Maradona !

Looks interest is not so good so world cup. Probably because of Trump, immigration rules and most probably because of price. Everything is now expensive.

Yes and we have Mexico beating South Africa by 2-0 in a match where 3 red cards were shown(2 - South Africa, 1 - Mexico).
South Korea came back from a goal down to beat Czech Republic(Czechia) 2-1.

Currently we have many goals wich show all teams are good. Worst impression so far left South Africa but all other were good. Biggest surprise was Spain against Cape Verde. Bookings earn a lot of money in all tournaments sometime stronger team lost.

As compared to 2022 world cup, I have paid double the amount for subscription. FIFA is becoming greedy.

Yes, an article in the newspaper today says that average goals per match have increased.
Teams are going for innovative ways to score more goals. More goals outside the penalty areas too have been seen.
Some had suggested withdrawing the offside rule yet many said that it would be too big a change and so it has not been done.
