Well today turned out to be a great day. Part of my ongoing duties is to check and clean up around the dumpster at a commercial plaza. Had today off but went over to get it out of the way for next week.
Cut up and got rid of several pallets, ran the magnet over the lot to make sure there were no nails, screws or other items to puncture tires and then went to check the contents of the dumpsters. One is strictly for garbage and a second for cardboard boxes.
Some moron had tossed a pile of cardboard boxes in the garbage dumpster and I had to fish them out, empty them, cut the tapes and flatten them before moving them to the cardboard dumpster. They were not even from one of the tenants in the plaza.
Half a dozen boxes were still taped closed and full. When I saw what they were, I jumped into action. I loaded those 6 boxes in my car and drove over to the flea market that was still open. Walked through the line of merchants and offered them for sale. Managed to sell all of them and was done in about an hour and a half after even finding them with an extra $70 in my pocket! That is the most I ever made at the flea market and I didn't even have to rent a table or stand around all day.
Oh yea, each box held 12 dozen (144) new coat hangers. List price online was from $15 to $20 for 50 hangers. I offered these with 12 dozen each for $20 for one, $15 each for 2 or more and $10 each if they took all I had. Only took 2 sales and I was done and out of there. The vendors who bought them were selling lots of shirts.
