Looksmaxxing

Postby Netherrealmer » 03 May 2026, 22:41

There is a very disturbing trend among teenage boys right now called “looksmaxxing,” popularized online by an influencer known as Clavicular.
He promotes the idea that methods like lightly hammering your jaw can make it more sharp and chiseled, similar to his own appearance. However, there is no credible evidence that this works, and jaw structure is largely genetic rather than something that can be reshaped this way.
Unfortunately, this trend has already led to reports of teenage boys injuring themselves and even requiring medical attention after attempting it, believing it would give them a more “masculine” jawline.

This is just madness, and it's really crazy most teens are following these trends.

Most teens are definitely not doing what Clavicular does (eg. hitting themselves in the face with hammers).

But there are those doing it, or at least doing it through other means?

Sure, a small minority, it was just the 'most teens' part I was disagreeing with.

It is a thing, and it's a bit worrying.

It's very concerning that people are damaging their faces based on dangerous advice found online.
