Lip Balm/Chap Stick

Postby Spontaneo » 24 May 2026, 13:46

Why do people give lip balm or chap sticks out as Christmas gifts?

Every Christmas I get gift bags with lip balm or chap stick.

My lips are fine with nothing out of the ordinary to them.

What are some odd gifts that you reason? ;) ;)

I use them as stocking stuffers. My favorite brand is Burt's Bees so I usually give those out. I can get them for a good price at Costco and they're all individually packaged so it's super convenient to give out. Chapsticks and lip balms are popular because they're inexpensive and almost everyone uses them.

I have a chap stick/lip balm on my desk which I have rarely used. Maybe 4 uses.

I think that's cos lip balm is cheap, useful, and works for almost everyone. It’s small, easy to wrap, and feels thoughtful without being too personal. People give it because it’s practical for dry lips, especially in cold weather, and makes a simple, low cost stocking stuffer or thank you gift.
