June is Pride season in many parts of the world. In Australia the biggest event is the [LINK https://www.mardigras.org.au/ Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras] in Sydney. It began in 1978 with a group of gay and lesbian people who wanted to commemorate the Stonewall Riots. This grew into an event calling for and end to discrimination against gay people in housing and employment. Today it's a huge thing with a massive parade and thousands of attendees.

Apparently it's a thing in India too, just not as big. Super brave to have it in a country where you could be arrested for it, as it was in 1999 when they had the first one in West Bengal!

Woop woop Happy Pride Month!! Kudos to Australia. I'm a massive LGBTQ+ supporter and while I don't celebrate it due to time constraints, I really, really want to get involved to raise awareness in my country.
