Hi,

I’ve been interested in brands of indie perfume for a while now, especially since I received a sample from a small American house maybe six months ago. I didn’t really know what to expect, and honestly it was a revelation. It’s nothing like what you find in department stores or even at Sephora. The issue is that I’m struggling to find French-speaking communities that really talk about it. On English-language forums there are dozens of threads, comparisons between small houses, feedback on shipping times (because ordering from Europe can add like €15 to €20 in fees…). Here it’s much rarer. Do you have any indie houses you’d recommend, or reliable places to order from without getting hit too hard by shipping costs? I’m looking for real feedback, not just website descriptions.

Yeah, I like some indie perfumes. There's a brand from Australia called Goldfield and Banks that has some really nice ones. Oddity has some interesting ones too. I'm wearing one of them right now. It's called Delulu I just got the little spray bottle though, not the big fancy one because it's $$$.

I imagine the shipping costs on these would be awful if you're in a different country though, sorry.

There's a tiny little place in Portland in the US called House of Gloi that has some interesting fragrances.
