by kahl39 » 09 Sep 2017, 16:39 This is Eric Alcuezar Fernandez. I was born to very humble solid Catholic parents in Dungguan, Datu Montawal (former part of Pagalungan), Maguindanao.
I took Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts at the Ateneo de Davao University and Master of Arts in Development Communication at the University of the Philippines Open University. I also completed 33 academic units except thesis in the University of the Philippines Diliman with Master of Arts in Media Studies in TV and Radio Broadcasting. Now, I am continuing my studies in the University of the Philippines Open University with Doctor of Communication program.
I have been an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher since December 2000. I have taught English to Korean nationals in the Philippines for about ten years. Since 2010, I have been working for Saudi Japanese Automobile High Institute in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as an English Instructor to future Saudi technicians of Japanese automobile companies in the whole kingdom.
To give a cogent background of my teaching profession, I have also finished Professional Teaching Certification (PTC) at the University of the Philippines Open University; and, I had applied for Special Professional Licensure Board Examination for Teachers and took it in September, 2016. It was my first time and I finished as Top 4 in the whole Middle East.
While in Jeddah I have a plan of getting a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA). Nevertheless, I have started taking Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management at Philippine Women’s University yet I have put on hold to give way to my Doctor of Communication studies.
My ultimate goal is to go back to the Philippines and share my knowledge to fellow Filipinos in due time. I am giving myself less than three years or thereabouts to become financially stable to make my ultimate dream come true. Hopefully by that time, I am ready to tell my parents and folks that I had started embracing Islam since the 17th of September, 2014. They might already have an inkling though. You can call me now Khalil (variant spelling is Kahlil).
I love veggies and keeping in shape. In fact, I am keen on weight training.
I have a question to ask though- was there any special reason that lead you embracing Islam? Or you did that to get a good job in Jeddah as a mandatory condition?
