Hello!

I joined the site yesterday and have been having a look round.

My real name is John - I am a semi-retired professional librarian, having worked in libraries of various types for more than 40 years. These days I work part-time in a university library in the East Midlands of England and I also help to run a local public library in a voluntary capacity.

My other main interest is writing, both creative and factual. I write stories and poems - I belong to a local writers' group - and I write articles on history, poetry, science, birds, the environment and other matters, most of which are posted on sites such as Virily.com and my own blogs.

I live in Barlestone, which is a village in Leicestershire, with my wife and son.
