Just curious because I want to start exploring ways of getting people who visit my blog to leave a comment. I've been doing some research and was surprised to hear you have to work for it hehehe It looks like there's a lot more to blogging that meets the eye. Now I get why a lot of people run out steam within months of launching LOL

* * If you use Blogspot and you have a Google Plus account then you can use the G+ Comments module. This makes it a little bit easier only because if you share your blog posts via G+, it shows up in the Public posts stream. G+ users can post a comment fairly easy. The comments show up in the Google Plus stream and at your blog.

If you have a Wordpress blog commenters can be external visitors, if you allow it OR have a WP profile and leave comments. Also, I think there is a way to allow people on Facebook to leave comments at your blog.

You could try Disqus. But for some reason I found that the Comments module has problems loading sometimes and it slowed down my blog. Although I have been at other sites and the module works just fine.

If you know how to edit your template, I am told there is a script that allows for users who are on social media sites like Facebook and G+ or have a Disqus profile or a universal (Open ID) profile to leave comments. I don't know HTML that well so I've never done it. But others have done so quite successfully.

Final Note:
Sometimes folks don't leave comments because something blocks them from doing so. You may not know that because the visitor just leaves your blog and never says anything. :? I have helped some friends who had blogs by visiting on Facebook or wherever else we're connected and saying; "Hey! I just submitted a comment and it evaporated into thin air!" They get to work on the back end to try to figure out what caused it. Sometimes visitors want to leave comments. They just can't. So if you have a Comments module installed, try to get people you to know to check it by leaving comments and then letting you know, so you can make sure it's working. Hope this helps.

If your blog is really unique you can get some juicy comments to your website. As the other said, Disqus is a way to go, most scam spam is filtered and many people register there.

Also, some pop-up window can be done when people finish to read the article - connected with easy comment system (no one loves to comment to these wordpress blogs when you can`t see your comment untill moderated) can bring up some comments. Just no spun content and you`ll be ok

Thanks for this useful info. I've decided to give it a try and see what happens. I've been so frustrated that I've only been getting comments at Reddit and Google Plus that this change makes it look like I've had more comments.

I've been struggling with Google Plus for a long time because every time I wanted to use one of their share buttons G+ wanted me to create a new profile. Today I went ahead and did it, so now I'll have to wait and see whether it works okay on other sites too.

To be honest, I don't care hahaha. Maybe because my blog is for personal. I only wants to read it online. If someone happens to read it and leave a comment I will be truly grateful and happy. Also, it is not monetized so right now I don't mind if I have readers or not or if they will leave a comment or not. But still it would be happy if they do.

Probably everybody has had problems with spammers, no matter which publishing platform they use. It's annoying but just delete them and keep hoping for a real visitor to come to your blog. Genuine readers eventually show up so don't give up!
