The old school method of posting links, banners and other free advertising has eroded to the point it's fractions of a percent response is very discouraging, but if you are clever you can still get positive results.
This morning I ran a free ad on the APSense Business Network with a simple call to action for them to contact me for information on how to use simple videos to attract attention. You can sign up free and still see the ad (if you hurry), or the video is on my profile.
So far (in just a couple of hours), I have had THREE people contact me and several dozen more like or comment on my post or view my profile. Most of these free ads get little to no response, unless you can generate some curiosity.
The Object, use curiosity to move people to take action, then build on that.
