Personally, I would not agree with this at all. The most important thing is to be healthy. What's the point in saving money if you have an unhealthy diet? Your health is your wealth. Even from a financial perspective the logic is wrong, being unhealthy is expensive - you will not be productive and medical bills are not cheap.
Do you really think that is good advice @MysticMoons? If you take a minute to think of someone you really care about, is that something you would advise them to do?
