Hang Dry Your Clothes.

Postby MattTolentino02 » 24 Aug 2022, 06:43

It largely depends on how often you use your electrical dryer, but according to several math-based studies you can save $200 up to $600 a year by choosing to air-dry your clothes whenever possible (it goes without saying that air-drying can't be done in times of rain, or if you urgently need to use your clothes, etc.).

But a more surprising benefit of air-drying is that it can help preserve your clothes! The use of tumble dryers causes excessive stress on your clothes; the fabrics get stretched non-stop for a few minutes which accelerates their deterioration - a process that you can avoid by hang-drying your clothes. If you are still not convinced, here's a short article from biome.com which better explains how air-drying can extend the life expectancy of your beloved attire: https://www.biome.com.au/blog/why-air-d ... %20garment

Finally, air-drying our clothes is quite environmentally friendly - an estimated reduction of over 2, 000 pounds of carbon footprint a year per household. And don't you just enjoy the nice feel of the warm sunshine on your face as you collect your fresh, sweet-smelling garment from the clothesline?

I hang my wet laundry over the bamboo pole, hang it out the window, the only way to dry our clothea if we stay in flats and hdb . We do not spend money on air dryer, too expensive and not good in long term run

In my country we mostly use the air to dry up our clothes. Electric dryers seems too much expensive to be used by the ordinary persons.

I have to air dry my clothes after hand washing them. Our washing machine we gave it out to my sister, and I really never knew how to use it much.

Well, I fry my clothes with the washing machine and air. After I dry partially dry my clothes with the machine and hang them outside to air dry them. I have been doing this for a long time. Most people do that too. Either they just air dry or they do both

I always hang my clothes in the line because I don't have a tumble dryer  As we have plenty of sun in my country it doesn't make sense to make the investment of buying one, when it is raining I have a space in the garage, near the heat machines to dry.

Its a good option and we always do that unless we need those cloths again for some purpose and actually washing machine does not consume much power so its fine if we machine dry too

Huh? So there was another way to dry cloths? 😂🌚 Anyways on a more serious note i have never used anything else or any method to dry my wet laundry rather than drying them outside. Even the time we had a washing machine with a dryer, i would still dry them outside. Notting beats the fresh cool breeze drying your clothes.

I always dry my clothes with the help of the sun, if it's a cloudy day and the clothes aren't too dry, I hang them under a fan that's always on. Over time it will dry by itself. :D

This is the same thing I do to make sure my clothes are dry instead if having to run the dryer and incuring electricity cost. I also wash my clothes in advance so that they would have time to dry naturally.

That's bad. So you have to run the dryer anytime you wash? That's why you should always make the most of the summer season and save cost.
