You can try a non-spending day in order to save more

Postby bismillahdehoke » 15 Dec 2022, 06:16

To succeed, you should prepare properly, since you'll probably want to thank yourself during the weekend. You can walk or maybe cycle to your office, you can also bring your own lunch and drink some free coffee in the office and when you are finally at home, you can cook a healthy meal for dinner and spend the rest of your non-spending day watching a movie in the evening.

In the end, you will be surprised at how much you will save.

It's a great idea to save money, but you need to consider whether your office is far enough from your home that you're more likely to take public transportation instead of walking or cycling and from there, you've already missed one of your non-spending days.

I think you need to have everything available near where you live if you want to achieve a day without spending

I don't think this can be implemented in my city because everything it is so far away, even it takes me 30 minutes to drive to my office. But for everything else like food and drink, I might still be able to spend no money at all in a day

I've never thought of trying this method, I'll try it and if I can save a lot then I will definitely do it more often.

I used to have a non-spending day and it is great, but i can't do it anymore because my office is far away from where i lived and it needs me to spend money at least for using a public transportation

I can't do this on weekdays, but I can do it on weekends because I'm the type of person who rarely leaves the house on weekends.

I agree with all users telling it's achievable only when your office (or whatever else employment) is near to your house. In my case it's very easy because I mostly work at home, only needing a computer and a mobile to carry on my business. I work outside only a day per week, but in this case I go on foot because the place where I teach leaves only 15 minutes walking.

True, in my case it is impossible to go to work without spending, I work in the city but I live in the country so I need to drive or take the bus to go to work but I can say that this is the only expense I have in most days.

It's so hard to implement because I need money in order to take public transportation and even buy my lunch because I can't make it at home. But I think I need to try to make my own lunch and even go to work by bicycle so I can save more.

A non spending day actually helps, but for this to work, you need to have good self control. Cause you could plan not to spend today but lack the self control or will power to stop yourself from going to buy when you get the urge or you see something you like.

I have tried this strategy but it didn't work out for me. I still spent money even when I tried my best not to.

I try to save money by doing all of the above. Most days (Monday-Friday) I stay indoors focusing on work, and on those days I spend nothing and save a lot of money. It helps that I work remotely Monday to Friday. I work out of an office at weekends, which can be challenging. That's when I spend the most money, no matter how much I try not to **sigh**.

What is the sense in making like harder to save money, if you don't spend it? This whole concept is off the stupid chart.

You might try and avoid spending at every other thing. Food or transport would just jump in and you end up spending.

I've tried it but not really without spending, just minimizing expenses. This is because water, electricity and internet bills are still running. We didn't cook anything all day, because we ate food that our neighbors gave us. :D

The only time I was able to succeed with this strategy was when I was in college because life didn't demand so much from me as it is today.

Recently, I have been trying a no spending day once every month. That's always on a weekend. If I have to go out, I trek and eat at my parents place.
