Because there is fierce competition among banks these days, do not use any ATM that charges for withdrawing money from a debit card. In my country, there are no ATM fees for withdrawing money, but if you withdraw money from the bank, you pay a fee. I always withdraw money from the ATM to save on fees.

But in most African countries charges are applied when withdrawing money, but I think the best way is by making transfer to someone you want to purchase an item from, this cashless policy can help in reducing huge losses on ATM charges.

Well our ATM here do not charge fees for withdrawal but I like that I can do online transfer without having to leave my home and Money is saved.

True but in some cases you might not have a choice. Like in a situation where you are in a place where there is no access to your bank ATM or even any ATM at all, you might fall back to POS that tends to charge higher.

Everything is a trade off. I think using mobile wallets is better than using ATM. They charge way lower. Some even offer free transfers up to an extent.

In most places in my city there are no atms at all, or only the generic ones (not belonging to a specific bank), so if you need cash sometimes you have no choice but to use those even though they charge a fee.

Here in my country we left ATM cards withdrawal only and only due to their high charges. They are charging much more, I used to be regular of getting this facility but suddenly almost all bank increased their per year charges which is much more for normal common Individual.

Banks have in networks that don't charge fees or charge very little fees for transactions among themselves. Check if the ATM you want to use belongs to your banks network to minimize or eradicate fees.
