I agree. However, one needs to find a good grocery store with affordable groceries. This is not always easy.

Affordable? Where I shop, ever since COVID, a lot of the shelves are empty! And the prices? Up anywhere from 50 cents to a dollar. They blame shortages caused by the supply chain disruption. But honestly? Even if the supply chain issues get resolved, I don't think they are going to drop the prices at all. Grocery store shoppers are just going to have to get used to paying more!

Here, the shelves are not empty anymore. For example? Hand sanitizer? Tons of it.

Because you don't need to spend a lot of money on medical expenses and so on, that's why it's cheaper to be healthy.

My daughter told me she will help with the holiday meal because she works at a grocery store and she can get a discount. God is good! <3

That is awesome!

One thing that is discouraging are discount cards for grocery stores. When at the cashier, the first thing that they would ask is "do you have a discount card?" So, I finally got a discount card and have had the discount card for about a year.

I have not even earned a loaf of bread or gallon of milk yet! I shop there every week!

I finally opened a micro-investing account. Now every time I go to the grocery store, a percentage of my purchase goes toward buying a fractional share of stock in the company. EX: When I shop at Walmart, a percent of the total purchase amount converts into a stock reward. Slowly but surely I am making money off owning stock in Walmart. It's great!

What's more; most of the doctors you're paying too much for get paid MORE if the prescribe the medicine you're paying too much for!

Medicine is good for you if you're a MACHINE! Humans--on the other hand--are complex systems BUILT to fight disease. So the best thing to do for your health---EAT RIGHT!

That's why--I think comedian Bill Maher would agree--your general Medical Doctor should study 'diet.'

I agree! But I do need some movement. On the former fitness and nutrition website called Sparkpeople.com, we had a team called "Walk For Those Who Can't". I do not ever want to get to the point of not being able to walk.

I'm one of those ... well, I CAN walk; but I don't (and I adjust my diet so that I'm not eating as much as I would if I were still walking far distances), and I don't want to make anyone think they NEED to exercise more if they don't feel like it

I understand.

Years ago, my family had well water with black particles in it. I refused to drink it.

That was before bottled water came out.

Once bottled water came out, I thought that I would drink some.

The water was OK, but I still needed to disguise the taste.

So, I used water enhancer.

I have been drinking water ever since!

I took Joyce Meyer's advice too out of her book "Look Great Feel Great" to take water with you wherever you go.

If you have to raise children, that's when you truly realize that it is cheaper to be healthy. I have had friends who had children with special needs or certain health conditions. The money they pay for their continuous medical treatment? It's enough to buy a mansion or a yacht or send those kids to an ivy league university. Instead, they're paying just to keep their kids alive, in the hope that they can have some kind of normal life.

It sounds like your friends need to do more research. Because a lot of the 'medicine' they buy can also be found in foods.

For instance: I eat a bannanna every night before bed---not because I like it, but because my 'grandmother' (really my grandfather's wife-in-old-age, so we 'adopted her' and she was a registered nurse) "prescribed" it to my grandfather that way ... I suppose it's a source of ... good stuff ...

The cost of drugs nowadays has skyrocketed. It is far better and cheaper to take care of yourself and stay healthy.

It is true that there are some diseases that we can't control but it is also true that we can always do something to improve our condition, through exercise, eating the right foods, avoiding some habits, and some foods (that can even be healthy but interfere with the disease), drink a lot of water and be in contact with nature.

Spontaneo wrote:You are going to save alot of money if you take care of your health!

How?

First, there is the cost of doctors. Do you need any further explanation?

Then, with the cost of doctors, come the cost of prescriptions. Do you need any further explanation?

There are free ways to help you!

Websites and cookbooks.

MyFitnessPal.com is a free fitness and nutrition website that I personally belong to. Exercise is free!

Then, there are cookbooks online and in paper form for healthy recipes. Check your local library.

I challenge you to get in 10 minutes of exercise each day! You are going to see the difference!

Sure, taking care of ones health is very important.there are basically ways to take care of the health that does not require spending of any kind, one of it is regular exercise.
