Re: Save money by getting free food at food banks and churches

I have seen people use the food bank to save money and it's a thing that must be adopted in order to economize.

This is what the government should put in place so that it will make life much more easier for the citizens.

Sounds like you are trolling, but that food is for people who actually need it, not people who just don't feel like paying for food.

So how do you define people that really need the food?

True, that service should be only for those that really need it not for people that are plain cheap, cheap takers.

It's subjective of course, but the impression I get from Mystic's posts is that he asks for things for free just because he doesn't want to pay from them, not because he needs them.

If say, someone has lost their job and can't afford to both pay the rent and shop for groceries, I'd say they're generally in need of the help. If they just don't want to pay for their groceries even though they could afford to without making any actual sacrifices, not so much.

You are right. My church offers free food every Sundays after service but I don't ever use it because I can afford food reasonably.

A lot of people save money by getting food from a food bank but it's not available in some countries.

It is in the best interest of each and every individual to go to the food bank to get free foods so that they can save enough money.

They definitely don't have enough food for everyone, and I'd feel like such an arse if I was taking food from them that could go to someone who actually can't afford to eat.

they are not referring to banks where we deposit money or borrow, but to food banks that are dedicated to solidarity.

This is very true, in the mosque there is also free food on certain days. Not every day, but often.

Especially during the holy month of fasting, in most places food for fasting and breaking the fast are always provided and some could save their money to be spent on cooking this way.

You give funny tips of saving money. This only happens once in a while and not everyday, so won't make much difference.
