Things are just things, when kids grow up they don't remember the expensive toys, they remember the time we spent with them, the games we played and the attention we gave them. Being present in their lives is the best gift we can give to our kids.

I don't know what you mean by caution here. If it means you need to go all out for the kids this period, it won't be waste.
