Re: Turn off your car engine at red lights

Postby Nsikan » 15 Nov 2023, 11:53

The cost of a liter of PMS in my country now is close to a dollar from 20 cents one year ago. People don't steam their cars at red lights again. They simply turn them off.

If one doesn't follow this tip, one would exhaust all his fuel in Lagos traffic. That is why you need to be sure your car is in good condition before taking it out in a high traffic city do that you would be free to turn on and turn off ignition at traffic hold ups.

It is a good thing to save money on gas when you are a red light. Turning off your ignition stops fuel consumption of the vehicle you are driving. This is widely practiced but most other people forget.

That is true, it is never more than 1 minute, it doesn't worth turn off our car engine, it will spend much more to start again.
What happens in my country is that it takes more than 1 minutes. And they are days that the traffic is so long that you won't be passed in the first two rounds. Better to turn off your engine.

It is not easy to fuel your car to drive with petrol being on the high side. It is a good practice to turn off your car engine on long traffic jams

I used to think it is misers that turn off their car engines at every little stop but now I understand better. Fuel is double what it used to be.

For a city like this, the practice just makes sense. No need to he wasting your fuel. You turn on your engine when it is free to move.

Well some of them are under AC so turning off the car would mean the AC has to go off. Many of them don't mind how much they burn, as long as the AC is on.
