Installment purchase would just put you in debts. It is best to avoid it altogether as every debt comes with interest payment.

And even sometimes you might have even forgotten you have to pay a certain amount after the month end and you might just receive a call from them even when you didn't plan that.

This is good advice, except that you can sometimes purchase things in installments interest free, in which case I can't see anything wrong with it.

That is excellent advice but sometimes the situation can't be helped especially when you are in urgent need of an item.

My lovely mom used to tell us not to engage in this kind of scheme when buying tangible things on the market. The interest is too high, and it is considered unpractical.

There are some negative aspects of this type of purchase one of which is as let's suppose I purchased motor bike on installment and paying it's monthly installment but after some time it's function not remain good and I need to fix it so the installments cost plus bike repairing cost will be much more.

I learned a bitter lesson when I bought a refrigerator in installments. I paid so much more than what I was supposed to pay for it.

It always seems to me like people shortchange themselves when they buy in installments because they have to pay excessively more than the actual price of that product.

I think it's desperation that makes people to easily buy things with installmental methods of payment. They can't wait and save up. The only installment I would patronize is interest free installments.

But you could have saved that money if you worked, stayed patient and bought it outrightly.

There is a company in my country. If a product is $35, and you want to buy in installments, you are going to end up spending $50. That's almost half of the price you pay when you pay for it at once. It affects finances

Buying on EMI is so much popular that we don't even look at processing or filling charges so if we like to not pay extra buy on cash

That's the whole essence when you psy outrightly, you wouldn't need to pay extra for it and you save that extra money

We should see what's best for us and if you are not willing to pay anything extra and don't mind paying upfront then you don't need to go for Emi

The closest thing I do is paying for the product bit by bit while it stays with the sellers. I only get it when I have completed the full payment. That way, I don't have to pay the extras associated with installmenta.
