Yep, that does save money. Most people in Australia have clotheslines, unless they live in a place where there is no room (like in some inner city flats). I have always used one. It not only saves money, it tends to make your clothes smell better, and sunlight is a disinfectant. I also have a dryer though, because sometimes it's too rainy, and sometimes I'm too sick or tired to hang stuff out and bring it back in.

That's right, I agree with you. In the dry season we shouldn't need to use the dryer in the washing machine, just squeeze it manually to save electricity. Then dry it in a place exposed to the sun. But unfortunately many people don't do this, they always dry their clothes in the washing machine at any time, with the excuse that they dry quickly.

That is a very good thing for saving money. Even if you don't use a clothes dryer, you can still get your clothes dry quickly in the sun.

At my place most people who use the washing machine always use the dryer feature every time they do laundry, no matter what the weather is even though it's a hot day. Even if squeezed manually we can save more money because electricity bills are reduced.

Drying clothes on the line helps save cost of buying an electric dryer , this is even more common and mostly used in rural areas as they see it as the only means to dry their clothes.

You are right this is one of the things that anyone does wheh moving to a new place. You need to save money from drying at the laundry mart.

Aside saving money on the energy required to dry the washed clothes on the machines, sun drying has got the advantage of killing the bacteria on the clothes.

I have not used anything other than a clothesline or even balcony railings to dry my clothes. The latest washing machine comes inbuilt with a heater, but I have not bought one yet, as I am still used to drying clothes on the clothesline, though this technique turns out not so good on cloudy and rainy days, but I do not spend extra on any dryer.

And that further saves you the cost of ironing the clothes. Clothes ironing is one of the major consumptions of electricity at home.
