That's true. You just got to be creative with these things. If you allow your mind to explore you can refashion your parents clothes and wear them provided they have not faded in color.Tendz wrote:It's great, you were able to take a hand me down and turn it into something that looks like it was made for a Gen Z. That's right. Beyond the cost saving measure,it makes the bond stronger and your parents would feel elated that their little baby is now wearing their clothes. Above all too, it saves money.sweerie_banana wrote:I love hand-me-down clothes from my mom because accepting hand-me-down clothes can be a meaningful and practical choice that goes beyond simply receiving clothing. That's true. The great benefits of parents passing down their clothes to their kids goes beyond saving cost. As a young kid, people thought I had lots of wears but they didn't know that they were all my mom's wears because I grew so fast that her clothes fit me when I was 15.sweerie_banana wrote:I love hand-me-down clothes from my mom because accepting hand-me-down clothes can be a meaningful and practical choice that goes beyond simply receiving clothing. Fast fashion has spiralled out of control, and because people get rid of their clothes after a few wears and sometimes throw them in the wrong places, fashion has become a threat to the environment. I personally visit a huge second hand clothes market and get most of my clothes there now.
Our parents clothes last long because it was made with good quality fabrics. Nowadays a lot of clothes are made from polyester, that is why they are cheap but also they look awful after wearing them a couple of times

They cost more because it involves more technology to transform plastic (petroleum) into polyester, and ends up being more harmful to us and the environment. We need to return to noble fabrics like cotton, linen, wool and cashmere.
And if you check well, our parents have these cotton fabrics. That's why they have lasted long enough to have a possibility of being handed down to us.nela13 wrote:Nsikan wrote: Clothes are poor quality yet cost a lot more
