My kids seem to think the brown eggs taste better. I don't realize notice a difference.

I was determined to use up a pound of bacon that had been in the freezer!

No skillet. No microwave. But an air fryer!

Now I can have bacon sandwiches!

We used to fry bacon in a pan.
Then my brother decided to put bacon on a cookie sheet and put it in the oven. I thought: That's easy!I

Then I heard a lady show how to make bacon in a microwave. I thought: That's easier!

Now we can cook bacon using an air fryer? Much better! :)

I feel much safer with the air fryer method. No hot grease flying everywhere! ;)

One time I was in the kitchen with my daughter cooking and she wanted to watch. She came close to stive and grease popped. I put my arm in front of her face. When that hot grease hit my arm it burned, it was stinging. But my daughter didn't get hurt. So I was OK. <3

It's very economical if you know how to prepare meals for just one. When my son lived alone, he would just buy from a restaurant rather than go grocery shopping. He said it was cheaper. He was never very good at cooking.

I am happy that neither of you were seriously hurt. I got hurt from boiling water a few months ago. My roommate asked myself to boil water for her bowl of ramen noodles. While attempting to fill up the ramen bowl, I got really burned. Luckily she had aloe vera gel. Don't believe when you are told to use cool water. At first I used cool water , the burn got worse.

You can cook in the required quantity and then you don't need to be bothered about the leftovers

The first aid recommendations from the Red Cross are to put a burn under cool running water (has to be running, like under a tap), for a minimum of 20 minutes. It can hurt while you do that, but that doesn't mean it isn't working. Aloe vera is good for soothing burns, but not for first aid. Using any kind of ointment on a fresh burn without cooling it properly first can seal in the heat and make the burn worse.

Of course you can do whatever you like, I just think it's important to have correct first aid information out there. The Red Cross first aid guidelines aren't an opinion, they've been proven to work and are used around the world for a reason.

I would not keep leftovers to that extreme. I am sensible.

As a general rule it's good to eat leftovers within 3 days. A week at the latest, unless you keep them in the freezer, where they will keep longer. You also should be careful to refrigerate cooked food quickly, not leave it sitting out. Also, only reheat food once (if you don't use it all after reheating, don't put it back into the fridge.

My leftovers never pass the 12 hours (for ex.: from lunch to dinner or from dinner to the breakfast of the day after). If they pass, I prefer to give them to cats or dogs. As I suffer cause a severe IBS, I can't take the risk to eat something older than 12 hours.

I had about 3 teaspoons worth of egg salad in the fridge today. So, I prepared an egg salad sandwich. I have enough for maybe 1 more sandwich.

Then, I had vegetable soup in the fridge. Guess what? I ate 4 cups!

I made too much noodles. Usually, my daughter helps me eat them but she didn't want any. So I had leftover noodles and they were OK.

Do you have any personal methods to preparing leftovers?

We should discuss our methods with each other!

I shall go first...

Leftover Spaghetti

Simply melt a lot of butter in a skillet.
Toss in leftover spaghetti from the fridge.
Saute until all spaghetti is moist and hot.

That's it! Voila!

Now it's your turn!

Sounds like effort, today mine went from the microwave for 2 minutes and straight into my mourh.

I am so mad at myself. I took a peak in the fridge and saw some plain spaghetti that was still good, but taking up alot of room. My stupidity told myself to throw away as I had eaten 4 cups of instant mashed potatoes.

I then found this topic. I usually practice what I preach but had forgotten that I could have sauteed the spaghetti in butter in a skillet.

I guess that I had a blonde moment.

If you are watching your calories then spaghetti cooked in butter is going to have a lot, so maybe you did the right thing.
