Most families do this. The stress of cooking alone is not something that one wants to be doing everyday.

Growing up, my mom used to cook three different kinds of food plus a stew over the weekends. She was a banker and never had time to cook during weekdays.

Bulk cooking is similar to bulk purchase. The cost per unit reduces. If you have money to always cook in bulk, please do.

You would still warm the food when you take it out of your refrigerator.

I always believe that a household should cook the quantity of food that would last for at least three days.

Cooking in bulk save money, and usually we do this practice at home. When we cook food at one time for all family members. This save money, unexpectedly.

We don't cook rice in bulk. We surely cook soup in bulk and refrigerate. It is far cheaper to shop for three different kinds of soup together than shopping for them individually.

I live alone and like to have a variety of meals from day to day. I also prefer to cook my own meals at home.

I usually do my shopping once a month and buy a variety of fresh foods along with packaged goods. When I get home, I like to put together a range of dishes to eat during the month so I'm not stuck with the same thing for a long time. I usually cook up 8 to 10 different dishes, put them in single serving storage containers and move them all into the freezer.

I select one or two of the options to move to the refrigerator once a day for tomorrow's choice and eat those I left there yesterday after they had time to thaw. In most cases, a minute in the microwave gets them warmed enough to eat. This method has allowed me to eat a variety every day of the month but it only took me one day to prepare all of it. It also gives me a choice of 8 to 10 options of a home cooked meal any day of the month. It also provides enough volume to last the entire month, even if I eat two different dishes once in a while on the same day, such as 1 for lunch and 1 for dinner.

I spend far less for food for the month than it would cost to eat at cheap restaurants for a week.

This your plan is perfect. It saves you money while affording you healthy dishes. Makes real sense. You know it is good for someone that has enough money to cook 10 different meals. But I can try three to last a week.

Cooking in bulk minimizes the consumption of energy per meal and saves money. It is a very vital strategy to minimize expenses. If one can prepare a months meal at once, I think one saves up to 20% cost of having to cook every week.

I hope consider proper storage methods to maintain the quality and safety of your meals.
We stopped using a fridge or freezer because of the electricity bills. We rarely cook food in bulk nowadays.

We prefer freshly cooked meals. I always opt for quick, healthy meals on working days. On weekends, I do a lot of preparation like grocery purchase, making a menu list for the week, getting few things like batters( for idli dosa) nd peeling of garlic and grinding the paste etc. That saves time.

Before one attempts to cook in bulk, there should be a proper plan for preservation for it not to lose value with storage. Cooking in bulk actually saves time.

I prefer fresh food so I don't like to cook in bulk as this may not work at all times as food can get spoiled easily

People that prefer fresh foods always spend so much money. You could cook in bulk, take it off half done, preserve it in a refrigerator and complete the cooking per time you want to eat. Just to keep costs down.
