Dryers are not so popular in our country. We get enough sun for most part of the year. It's a common practice here to dry clothes in sun.

It is the same thing with where I live. We just dry out our clothes even in rainy season. Might take 2 or three days but they would surely get dry.

If you lived where I do in Oregon, such a thought would not ever cross your mind in the Fall, Winter or Spring. Even in Summer you could lose to some Random Thunder Storms. But if you lived in Forks, Washington (rain 200 iches a year) it coul be even worse.

Clothesline is a wise thing to have to dry your clothes. In my compound, every tenant has their own personal clothesline they have put up by themselves.

Clothesline saves us big in summers also because you don't need to dry clothes in dryer and just need to hang these on clothesline and get these dry

Re: Install a clothesline to save money

My mom always used a clothesline and I've used a clothesline many times in past homes and apartments. I have noticed that clothes dried on the line seem fresher than when dried in a dryer. I would prefer it if it was available.

Problem in my current apartment is that there is no place to put up a clothesline and we have no choice but to use a dryer. That is often an issue with apartments. Many HOAs (Home owners associations) even ban installing clotheslines outdoors forcing everyone in those neighborhoods to use a dryer.

What makes it even worse is that many who live in apartments have to take their laundry to a public laundromat to use both a washer and dryer with a cash payment for each load in each machine and then use the public folding tables to take it back home. That makes doing laundry far more expensive. If some bozo used a washing machine to dye something, you may also end up with damaged goods just by using those public washing machines or encountering some spill on the folding tables.
