Nuts and almonds yes, especially almonds. Sometimes I also prepare cassava bread when I know I must stay out longer (for ex., if I have a music rehearsal in my church after the service). Cassava bread fits allergies-sufferers and it's easily transported in a plastic pot.

Cassava bread is so versatile. You can pair it with different spreads or toppings to keep things interesting.

Jerky is good. High protein. I have vegetarian jerky though- it can be soy or made from mushrooms. It's a bit hit or miss trying to find a good brand but I found some teriyaki mushroom jerky that I really like.

Jerky brings back good memories about a loved one. He would take myself out on outings. We would go to a club for a minute and he would go to the bar, he would buy myself a Slim Jim and he would buy himself a beer. ;) ;)

The only toppings my allergies let me consume to accompany cassava bread are nuts, cinnamon, honey and fresh fruits (usually bananas). When I must take out cassava bread, I always choose cinnamon, as the snack results easier to manage out of home.

Cinnamon with cassava bread sounds delicious. It must give a nice warmth and aroma.

They are some places that you get to and cost of snacks is higher. So you can save yourself and money by carrying your cheaply bought snacks around. You wouldn't have to buy the expensive snacks at some places and money is saved.

This is a sure way for one to become addicted to junk food.

I have attempted to take crackers, chips, cookies, peanut butter sandwiches, lunch meat sandwiches, etc. The only thing that satisfies my hunger when out on errands is a sin, which is drive-thru food. Lunch meat used to do the trick. So did Slim Jims.
