Planning meat-free days can be a great way to explore new recipes and benefit your health and the environment. Here are some tips to help you get started:

1. Choose Your Days: Decide on specific days of the week that will be meat-free. This helps establish a routine and makes it easier to plan.

2. Find Inspiration: There are many resources online for meatless recipes. Websites like EatingWell offer a 30-Day Meatless Challenge with daily tips and plant-based recipe ideas https://www.eatingwell.com/article/2904 ... challenge/.

3. Stock Up on Staples: Make sure your pantry is filled with plant-based staples like beans, lentils, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and a variety of spices.

4. Experiment with Protein Alternatives: Explore plant-based proteins such as tofu, tempeh, and seitan. They can be great meat substitutes in your favorite dishes.

5. Plan Balanced Meals: Ensure your meals are nutritionally balanced with a good mix of protein, carbohydrates, and fats. Include a variety of fruits and vegetables to get essential vitamins and minerals.

6. Try New Vegetables and Fruits: Each meat-free day, try to include a vegetable or fruit you've never had before. This keeps meals exciting and expands your palate.

7. Make It Fun: Involve friends or family in the challenge, or join a community online to share experiences and recipes.

Remember, going meat-free doesn't mean you have to give up flavor or satisfaction. With a little planning and creativity, you can enjoy delicious and nutritious meals that are good for you and the planet. Happy cooking!

I have not had tuna in months! My roommate and I have a few cans in the pantry. She does not consume tuna. I do not want the canned tuna to go to waste.

So, I prepared some tuna salad on toast!

The sandwich was so delicious but I do not want to make a habit of such a sandwich!

Yes, I feel very bad about fishies, cows, and chickens. What am I supposed to do when my health requires the food, such as tuna for the Omega 3s?

I'm not saying you shouldn't eat tuna if you want to (eat what you like), but you eat eggs, don't you? You can get omega 3s from eggs.
https://www.australianeggs.org.au/nutrition/omega-3

"Eggs are mother nature’s incredible and edible source of Omega-3 fatty acids, providing on average, 180mg per serve (2 eggs).

Of this amount, 114mg is the long-chain type of omega-3 fatty acid – which represents between 71-127% of the desired intake for adults."

Again, I am not telling you what to do, so I hope you don't take offense. I am just providing you with information since you asked.

For today's food diary, I am having:

toasted mozzarella sandwiches
french fries
potato chips
Reese's big cup with pretzels
hard-boiled eggs

iced tea with water enhancer
water with water enhancer
coffee
diet soft drink

I am celebrating a Meatless Monday. How about you?

;) ;)

Thank you for the input. Eggs, tuna and canola oil cooking spray are quite common for myself these day

I guess the reality of life is enough to cause people not to eat meat every day. Unless one steals the meat!

There are days when I have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

There are days when I prepare a Crock-Pot full of lentil.
