Ofcourse, Newspapers were part of our life, and many of us might have the habit of reading newspaper while having breakfast, or while refreshing yourself. However with time there are always new ways.

For Publishers-
Printed newspapers cover the cost of paper and prints, unless it have enough ads to cover the cost, yet ads cannot cover all costs, because small publication cannot charge high price for ads, and large publication have to give ads on millions of copies. Now, so many publications are offering free PDF of news paper daily (this way they gain more readers without extra printing costs, this attracts more advertisers and save money for publishers too).

For Readers -
You can just follow the news channels and papers on social media, there you will get all news for free, and you can even debate if you want, or just read and leave; also they will link you to the news for free, which are always updated, while printed news can only be updated in next issue (including correction). You can even get free PDF from some of the dealers who are paid to promote the copies.

PS - In India, Internet is very cheap, so for us, news is almost free.

Digital originally means using the 1 and 0 based electronic system, but now with more wide usage, it is any mean on internet, this includes websites, social media, soft copies etc.

For example from this platform you can download pdf version of Indian news papers for free.
There you can download and read multiple newspapers without paying for newspaper.

It is also beneficial for publishers, as they can send their newspaper to millions of people with a single copy without additional paper and printing charges. Apart from this, various publication houses have also relesed their own mobile apps which can be downloaded free of cost.

I read digital news since mobile phone is easier to read when on train. Furthermore it is free, dont have to subscribe.

I haven't paid for a newspaper or magazine in paper form in years. I don't even pay for their online versions. I've been getting the news for free online for years. My city's local newspaper has a website version, and so do many national ones like USA Today, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. If you have animals that can use old newspapers for bedding that's one thing but if you don't have ways to reuse the paper like pets it's really not worth getting the paper one. If I am shopping and those local peppers are on the racks outside the door I may get one if I'm looking for a new apartment or need some coupons, other than that there are ad circulars delivered to my apartment building regularly and I could use those. I can also use any of the tons of junk mail that comes in my mailbox for those sorts of things. Also, cash for recycle hasn't been worth much here in a long time, not for newspapers it works better here for bottles and cans.

Vibes of hard copy will remain different, but we cannot save money for paper vibes. Journalism in both are same, paper cannot update once published news, but digital can (expect for PDF version, which is digital newspaper.

Newspaper is back in our home, perhaps its time is not going away soon.
Saving should be done with other options.

These days people hardly buy news papers. Unlike back then when newspapers where the major source one could get information about the things happening. People now have. Access to the internet, they can easily search what they want and get the information from there.
