Save by making your own

Postby junglegal » 04 Aug 2022, 19:27

Save money on buying clothes by making your own clothes with the old clothes you no longer wear. Having a sewing machine has been a massive handy tool for me, I can make whatever outfit I want from my old clothes. Instead of letting clothess gather dust in your boxes or wardrobe, you can give sewing a try.

We donate old clothes to needy, and give our valuable clothes (unfit for us) to relatives.

There are some clothes that I try to change and give it another look, my mom has a sewing machine and usually she understands perfectly well what I want to change. My children clothes I usually give it for my niece and nephew as they are younger, it is another way to reuse old clothes.

I am not good with stitching but I can confirm it will be and is a useful tip to save money as we can alter and design clothes as per our choice.

Yes I can agree to this as my sister that makes clothes have been saving me from spending money on sewing clothes. I know making it myself would have been more helpful to me.

Good point though but this idea is limited. What about does who do not have access to a sewing machine? Or in places where buying a personal sewing machine is Abit expensive, in such cases they can make use of a tailor

In old times most females used to stitch clothes for at least their family and themselves and these days we get it done from tailors and they do charge big so if we can learn it it will be best

My grandmother has a habit of sewing clothes for her granddaughter to wear on Eid al-Fitr once a year. So she would start sewing around 6 months before the D-day, and give it away when that day came. he said, do not need to spend a lot of money to be able to have new clothes

I usually make my own clothes, in the sense that I design them and take them to a convection shop to make my own clothes. The price is cheaper than buying clothes out there. Likewise for daily coffee, I make it a habit to make it myself instead of buying a cup of coffee out there

I once made my own t-shirt but I didn't really make the t-shirt independently, I just made the design which will be printed later and just like that, the price can already be cheaper, you can imagine how it can give you more savings if you print it by yourself
