Try to give DIY gifts.

Postby MattTolentino02 » 08 Aug 2022, 16:06

You don't have to spend a lot of money to show your love and appreciation to someone. Sometimes, personally crafted gifts are better than expensive, store-bought items (and their recipients will truly appreciate the effort you've given in preparing your gift). The biggest difference between DIY gifts and factory-made gifts is your personal touch (and that is a very nice thing!).

Here are some DIY Gift Ideas:
Tassled bookmarks
Marcrame bracelets
Handmade cards
Camera strap that is built from a scarf
Scribble mugs
Small, baked goodies
A plant that you've personally grown
Resin keychain
Aromatherapy bracelets
Painted bottles (to be used as a pen holder or flower vase)

Remember, it is not the gift, but the heartfelt thought that counts!

Making gift is so thoughtful and frankly I prefer DIY gifts. It shows somebody put in so much effort and love. Who wouldn't want that.

Gifted this, but it contains my efforts and time too, so I don't think it was cheap, yet such gifts are worth saving + environment + love.

Yeah these are great gifts to people you love. The painted cards where what we used to do at school for our dear teachers at the end of the term. They used to look very beautiful. I might try them again for friends doing the yuletide season.

I like to make gift baskets.

Recently, I thought about making some gift baskets with a book theme. My bookshelf is bulging with books in good condition and in need of a good home.

Maybe for Christmas?

My wife has been making handmade greeting cards for years and my part is to use the Internet to find clever ideas for the salutations used inside them. It is amazing how they meet with enthusiastic smiles and even big hugs.

This is a very sweet thing to do! <3 Can you please share a photo or two of one of the greeting cards you've made with your wife?

Here is the latest one we did for my son's girlfriend's birthday. They went to a Lighthouse to celebrate, so we made a special lighthouse card for her to tell her how special she was. Image

For me I like hand crafting baskets and lovely painted handbags made from reeds or Bamboo.

You can get the raw materials and do them for yourself than buying ready made that might be more expensive
