Save money by having people bring you free food at home!

Postby MysticMoons » 10 Aug 2022, 02:19

OK yes this might sound crazy. But allow me to explain. You can earn a lot by having people bring you food to your door. I do this all the time and eat free! no depending on where you live and who know you might not be able to do this that often. Well one thing you can do is simply just tell family or friends to bring food by your house. This will for sure let you save money. I do this at times sometime friends or family will just bring me food for no reason if they are in the area and i eat free. They bring the food to my house, and i am able to eat free without, having to pay out of pocket. So try it out you could be eating that next lunch free and saving money

You got to be kidding me. In asia country, asking for free food is possible for a couple of times, not everyday or too often because everyone is having a hard time to earn money now. Unless you grow veggies in garden, you have animal farm, or you are rich enough to share, then it is possible to give out free food to friends or family members.

This is becoming over dependent.
If relatives/ friends bring food for me, I too will do the same for them.
Saving and freeloading is diffrent.

So you want to be a freeloader and leech on others. You are not just conserving money you but you are showing the world you are a parasite which doesn't make much sense.

Sundays were my family's large dinner days. Everybody knew when my mother was serving homemade pasta, a fresh garden salad and raspberry pie. People would just show up. My poor mother waited to sit at the table until every person was served.

@MysticMoons, I'm glad this is working out great for you. And thanks for the tip! However, this for me is just beyond strange and would make me feel like I was being very selfish and self-centred, always grabbing things from people. In these difficult times, everyone is tightening their purse strings, so to basically beg for food from people who may even be worse off than you is beyond CRINGEY. It's wrong on too many levels than I can state here LOL May I ask, do you actually reciprocate?

I think I can not do this at all. Because as a person I learned that I must depend on myself. Free food can be given or supplied to the disabled.

I wonder if you really follow all these tactics you always post. You don't pay for your own food when you go out, you request family to bring you food, you borrow games from friends. To start with, having people bring food over works when there are functions or there's an occasion. Bringing food everyday just for you to eat because you do t want to "waste" money is extreme for me. Save responsibly.

I can only even feed the disabled not a poor lazy person or one that want to be a miser. if you are working it is only right that you spend on yourself especially on food

Even thinking about such is laughable, expect your parents and family members, nobody will care.
Becoming burden isn't saving.

Definitely, only family will want to hear such a burden even at that they will still get tired st some point because money is involved and they might not have to spend all the time.

This is the quickest way to lose friends and get angry family members, until they are silly enough to not understand the trick they are supporting a social parasite (free food must be only for disabled not counting on a serious Social Security pension and indigent people).

Not only among Asian countries: in the northern and centre of Europe you can't carry on such attitude or very soon you'll be friendless. Unfortunately, in south and some countries of east Europe it often happens to support social parasites because families, parents, relatives and friends are afraid to bump into severe quarrels, if they refuse to support the parasite (the classical ex. is it happens a man marries, but instead of supporting his new family, he spend his income to support his origin family members: parasite brothers, sisters, parents and nephews and the wife shuts her mouth about such a mishap to not divorce).

Maybe this is a joke. In this case, I laugh too

I agree with you, with this method you might just have angry family and friends in your hands not to write about the fact that some days that you would go hungry when no food is brought to you.

I dont buy this idea though, cause you asking a friend or family member to bring food for you means they would be the ones having to spend more on feeding themselves and as well you, and i am pretty sure you would not be happy feeding an extra mouth every time. This might work a few times but not every time.

I have never been comfortable expecting such favors from people because they can fail you woefully. I trust no one.

I feel embarrassed to beg even if it's just food from my own family who is in a different house, I'd rather eat rice with salt than ask them for delicious food. I would feel no self-respect if I begged. 😁

It would get to a point where these people who always bring you free food would start avoiding you, while they judge you behind your back.
