healthline.com explains best what Intermittent fasting is: "an eating pattern that cycles between periods of fasting and eating".
Unlike ultra-popular wellness practices that include magnet therapy, wearing of weight loss wraps, homeopathy, ionic foot baths, healing bracelets and many others, researchers and scientists do agree that intermittent fasting has numerous health benefits. These include (but are not limited to): lowering risk of diabetes, staving off heart disease, reducing blood pressure, reducing obesity risk, prevention of impulse eating, repairing cellular damage, etc. The one downside of intermittent fasting is that not everyone is qualified to do it; pregnant women and people under the age of 18 shouldn't engage in intermittent fasting.
Performing intermittent fasting will require zero investment and is a very healthy way to save money (please don't eat twice the amount that you normally do during your non-fasting periods, for that will defeat the purpose of intermittent fasting).
