Yard Sales

Postby Spontaneo » 19 Aug 2022, 23:02

Recently, the local highway held it's annual yard sale, the entire length of the road.

I am usually a pro at yard sales, but this year yuck.

I bought a pair of fuzzy slippers, a bottle of perfume that does not even have a scent, a radio that you cannot hear, boxers I liked at first but never would wear and a top that is too small.

How about you? What did you buy at your local yard sales?

Sounds like you didn't have much luck at that yard sale Spontaneo. Maybe you can sell those items at the next yard on your highway?

Yard sales are not really something we have or do here in Ireland. There are some car boot sales, but not yard sales.

Yard sales are about luck. I have had a instance where I bought a phone that did not charge. Watched as the battery reduced at it just switched off. My heart broke. But fortunately I decided to have it fixed, the charging system was damaged. But sometimes you can find great things on yard sales.

I usually go to estate auctions. You can get so much for so little at auctions. I used to keep some stuff and sell what I did not want

I usually take change. Instead, last week, I took cash. Big mistake. They see the cash and refuse to bargain.

Did you believe there was a charge in it when you bought it?

I have never been to a yard sale and actually, these are not common here but we do have Sunday market in which we can expect to get things at low price
