Make the most of solar-powered gadgets.

Postby MattTolentino02 » 26 Aug 2022, 08:19

This particular tip will require some investment on your part, but it will be 100% worth it. With the help of modern technology, more and more everyday items that rely on renewable energy are being invented regularly. I'll share below some solar-powered gadgets that you may not know already exists:

1. Solar cellphone chargers
2. Solar-powered LED garden lamps
3. Solar lanterns
4. Solar keyboards
5. Solar-powered bluetooth speakers
6. Solar calculators
7. Solar wifi cameras
8. Solar flashlights
9. Solar-powered weather radio
10. Solar-powered string lights

The list goes on and on, but the other sunlight-powered products I've seen are way too expensive and sound luxurious: solar boats, solar golf carts, etc. With the list I've provided above, they won't necessarily cost an arm and a leg, plus they are quite useful on a daily basis. If you haven't figured it out already, the primary feature of these gadgets is they won't need electricity in order to be used, just a few moments in a location where they can receive sunlight (imagine the savings on your power bill the more solar-powered gadgets that you have). To conclude, a very wonderful bonus is that these eco-friendly devices do not contribute to air pollution or even greenhouse gases.

Yes, this will be the way out though they are always way expensive than the electric ones but you can powered your devices with or without electricity. And it is much cheaper in the long run.

i wish i could, what's funny here in my country is even we get fined by the local electricity company for using my personal solar cell. I don't know what they think, it seems they are afraid that people will switch to solar cells and their users will decrease

Using solar powered things would definitely help you save a lot, especially in a country like mine. I am from a country where there is no stable power supply, meaning you would have to rely on petrol most of the times. Having a solar powered gadget would definitely help you cut the cost on fuel.

I spend 10 cents everyday to charge my phone and sometimes I do it twice because the power situation in my country is terrible. Someone that has a solar system is free from that kind of expense.

That automatically means that you save on electrically powered security lights. And that seems a good prospect.

we installed Solar panels to produce energy this summer, it was a good investment, we can already see a big difference in our electricity bill, we are now paying half of what we used to pay.

I have invested quite a bit into various portable solar power devices. Although I do see a difference in my monthly electric bill, it is not quite what you may think. Based on what I have seen in my electric bill, it would take about 45 years to be enough to break even on what I invested. The various devices simply will not last that long. The only time it makes a real difference is during a blackout. I will still have power when everyone else is sitting in the dark.

I purchased a couple portable solar power banks to plug in my various small electronic devices. Yes, they work, but you really don't get enough power from the sun no matter how long they sit idle. You have to plug them in to get them to full power and then they have enough to actually charge a few items. They just don't charge enough from the sun to really call them solar chargers. Calling them solar chargers is misleading at minimum. Outright fraud if you want to be blunt.

I also purchased a 1500 Watt Solar “generator” to run the basics at home. I run almost everything I use on a daily basis on this device, and it does charge directly from the solar panel on the roof as long as it is a bright sunny day. If it is a good day, I can even plug the refrigerator into the system during charging hours. There are times I have to switch to using the household electricity when it is cloudy or otherwise poor weather.

Between the power banks and the home system, I can charge all my various electronic devices from the sun at any time. In a power blackout, I can charge all the various devices for everyone in our apartment block almost always, even during cloudy days.

Yes, they are convenient, but they do not cover everything. The original investment gives you emergency power, especially during a blackout, but it will take longer than the life of the devices to actually break even.

Yes, they are “clean” energy, but when you take into account the actual costs of producing these items, it is questionable at best to call them clean energy. There is a tremendous amount of added pollution in the manufacturing process that substantially counters the clean energy in their use.

As for consistent power, the US is subject to major blackouts all the time. It is not unusual for thousands to be without power for hours or days at a time. It is extremely unusual for any state in the US to have a single day without someone sitting in the dark. The power grid in the US cannot possibly support a complete change to electric cars. The power grid can't support everything in use now, much less 10% of the population driving electric cars. Electric cars is a huge pipe dream and ultimately a complete scam on the world. Here's documentation on current US Power blackouts, continuously updated:

Solar equipments always tend to reduce drastically the amount spent on power. I have a solar power bank and it has really saved money on paying to charge my phone.

If you can add one or two solar batteries to your solar system, you can be having 24 hours electricity at no concurrent cost.
