Save more by eating yesterday's food

Postby darkuszerx » 05 Dec 2022, 23:21

This is one of the savings methods that I have always used. So when I buy food or I cook food for Wednesday, I will save it for my breakfast on Thursday morning. So according to my calculations we only buy one meal but we make it like two meals. However, it seems that this method is less effective for people who have a habit of eating quite a lot

We don't like to eat anymore what we have yesterday. We want to eat something new everyday. Usually we have different breakfast and our lunch and dinner meals are the same

I'm not used to eating the same food as yesterday because I want to eat something different from yesterday. I can still probably eat the same food at lunch and dinner

If you're not the type to get bored easily you can, but I never could because I'm always craving new food and I haven't eaten in a long time before

I apply it in my daily life, not even just two meals but it can be food for a day. I'm not a person who gets bored easily so I'm fine with that

We eat leftovers all week long for lunch. For example, we love Corned Beef and Cabbage and cook a large enough one that we can enjoy Ruben Sandwiches with Sourkraut and Cheese all week without getting tired of them.

We eat leftover food completely until it runs out, so it's not a problem especially since it's clear we can make savings

Leftovers are great, they save money and time :) I usually don't eat leftovers for breakfast, I usually take my lunch with me to work and it is always leftovers from the other day's dinner.

I think cooking in bulk is a useful strategy. It can also save time and energy. If you don't want to eat the same thing for several days, you can also freeze some of it, if it's suitable for freezing.

Leftover food is still very much worth eating tomorrow, and it's one of my thrifty methods now. I also often cook a lot for my meals in a day

Yes indeed, leftover food is delicious! I was taught to not waste food.

As an example today for dinner, I had a serving of leftover spaghetti and leftover tuna salad on 2 sandwich thins!
