Clear your cookies before shopping online

Postby Yugocean » 07 Dec 2022, 07:58

eCommerce websites are smarter than you think.

They store cookies on your device ostensibly to help with shopping, but in reality, to optimize the shopping experience.

On the basis of collective experience, they also increase the price of the material of greater interest and then display the item of interest in front of you by offering a discount, which is not even a discount.

You have to pay more to meet your needs. So don't fall prey to marketing gimmicks, always clear your device's cookies, and buy like a new user every time.

This is something useful that I had never thought of before.
Therefore, since I use Google-Chrome as my default browser, before making any online purchase, I should delete browsing data such as: browsing history - cookies and other site data - cached files.
Did I say it right?
Thanks for your advice  .

Yes, and if possible, do not accept cookies while shopping online.

There's only one little problem with doing it that way. That is, by deleting the cookies I am logged out of every website that has memorized my username and password. Then consequentially I have to re-authenticate for each of them.
Luckily I wrote in a notebook, the credentials of each site to which I am registered.

I've read about this, and indeed when I prove there will be some difference in hotel prices (which I tried at that time). However, can this be done simply by using the incognito browser? or still cookies must be deleted first?

Does this also apply on travel platforms or just for ecommerce?
In e-commerce, I've read about it but haven't really implemented it because when i want to shop, i always shop right away without remembering to delete cookies.

To keep device clean, it is important to keep deleting them.
Use private window if you are unsure

I should do this very soon, as I have to buy a new mobile phone on Amazon, using my Italian Postpay prepaid card, exactly like the one you can see here.

It's a very useful advice in deed. I personally had experienced this but didn't know how to go about it.

Well, personally they might try to identify you, but without cookies, it will be difficult.
