Be A Tourist In Your Own Town

Postby Spontaneo » 12 Dec 2022, 09:39

If your town is so secluded that you cannot do any of these, drive to the closest town and walk the streets. For example, my hometown was so secluded that I never got to walk the streets and explore until I went on to attend university. It was such a whole new world to me that I never wanted to leave.

However, if you can be a tourist in your own town, that is awesome!

—Library

Pick out a few movies to watch for when you return for the night. Yes, going to the movie theatres is nice, but is so expensive. Buy the popcorn and a drink only to be left broke!

—Grocery store

Before setting out for your journey, challenge yourself! Clip coupons and buy some new groceries you have never eaten before. Have the meal while watching your movies.

—Restaurant

If you can afford to go to a restaurant, go to a place that is popular. That way you cannot waste money on food you are not going to like.

—Church

Churches are free. I am always amazed by their architecture. How they were so grandly built is such a mystery.

—Coffee

Are your feet hurting yet? Stop by a coffee shop or a cafe (not Starbucks) and have a cup of coffee for rejuvenation. They most likely are not going to charge $5.00 like Starbucks!

—Tourist merchandise

Buy a t-shirt or a hat or some post cards and keep for yourself or to give to a loved one.

These are just a few things that you can do to get out and explore, without a whole lot of money.

We own a timeshare resort membership and a few years ago they opened in downtown Portland. We have really enjoyed staying weekends there to explore and enjoy eating out, even though it's only 15 miles from home.

Working on a New Side-Hustle

Since age is no longer creeping up on me, but rushing in like an NFL ball carrier on 4th down from the 1 yard line. it's very simple.

That is awesome! I am sure that it is nice to just get out of the house and spend some quality moments together in a little romantic atmosphere!

Thats a simple thing, we have many such places, but we cannot go all the way, it would be wasting money. We will go when there is actual need.
