Save money regifting gifts for family and friends

Postby augusta » 23 Dec 2022, 09:51

This is the period of gifting and it is good to spread love around. You can save money if you can regift your gifts. Check your home to see if they are gifts laying about that you don't have need of. Instead of spending money to buy new gifts, you can nicely wrapped the old but never used gifts and present them to your family and friends and money is saved.

What do you think?

That is all well and good as long as you don't forget who gave you the item in the first place. If Aunt Sally gave you something last year, don't wrap it and give it to her this year. Even worse, don't wrap it and give it to one of her kids. If you don't want something and don't remember who gave it to you, you can always give it as a donation to one of those organizations that give Christmas cheer to the poor and take the tax deduction.

Give that gift same year, or give a non spoilable gift what you have.

@Oldbuddy sure it is to note who gave you the gift so that it wouldn't look as if you are returning the gift
But this can save money

That depends what kind of gifts and who gave me the gifts. I usually keep gifts given to me by friends because I treasure the gifts. That said, during Chinese New Year, I receive a lot of chocolates and cookies given to me by relatives and acquaintances. I just got too may of these sweet foods. I always regift them to others.
