Right now it is impossible to save on gas in my country, the diesel prices go up every week!
The only way to save is change to an electric car and kust stop buying gas or diesel.

Yes, this is also a better choice to go for an electric vehicle. But, for that too you have to shell out lot of money which again beats the purpose of saving money. So, unless we are not able to switch to electric cars, we just have to do with what we have.
