Don't Get Rid Of Those Clothes!

Postby Spontaneo » 16 Feb 2023, 22:35

Have you accumulated alot of clothes that do not fit?

Would you like a new wardrobe?

Go through your own closet and go shopping with what you find!

If they do not fit, all you need is a good seamstress! Simple as that!

As examples, when I was younger, I was skinny. I could not find clothes to fit me. My school bus driver happened to be a seamstress. She altered everything from Levi’s blue jeans to my gowns for homecoming and prom.

Then, a friend from the cafe where I used to work is a seamstress. As a matter of fact, she just gave me a belt today that she had finished making more holes in.

As for the belt, I can now wear 5 new pairs of blue jeans that I thought would fit but were too big. They are designers. I bought the blue jeans on Poskmark.com for $40.00 all included! The belt was $7.00! Instead of altering all of the blue jeans, a belt was all I needed.

If you do not know of a seamstress, look at business cards on billboards located at local businesses. I have even seen a business card at the local laundromat.

Also, you can look in the local yellow pages!

Anyway, now I do not have to wear leggings every day with oversized sweatshirts! I now can have a new wardrobe!

I challenge you to do the same thing! Nothing like retail therapy from your own closet!

I still have some pieces of clothing from my adolescence, some are back in fashion and I've already recovered and I'm using them.
When the pieces no longer fit, I usually deliver them to clothing stores like H&M, and C&A which give me an extra discount for each piece delivered.

Fortunately for me, T-Shirts, Hoodies and Flanel PJ Bottoms never go out of style.

The way clothes are expensive this days requires that one does everything to recoup old clothes.

I did not mean out of style clothes, but clothes that do not fit.

Save one outfit for cleaning. That way, if you are cleaning with bleach, you cannot ruin your clothes!

I even take old clothes, dye it again to resuurect the brightness and wear it. It is cheaper than buying new clothes.

Yes these are always in style and you can dye your t-shirts to different colors as per your choice.

Actually, I am wearing an Old Navy sweatshirt that I have worn for over a decade and a pair of lounge pants bought from the dollar store! Good enough for me, myself and I!

Some days back i came across a video i think on YouTube where the person was able to covert some of her old clothes to create new ones. So instead of buying new ones, you can be creative with the old ones and see what you can get out of it. You could also sell your old clothes and make extra money from it.

That is also a good option for clothes that no longer fit us, here we have some apps where we can sell or buy second-hand clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry... like Vinted.

That's right I agree with you. The used clothing business is widely operating in my country, proving that this business is profitable. We can sell our used clothes at affordable prices instead of throwing them away.

I just cannot win.

I recently traveled to the Salvation Army store with a friend.

I found 7 pairs of Khaki Capri in size 16 petite. I usually wear a 14 petite. I thought that they should surely fit!

Guess what? All 7 Capri are too small.

I really need to lose some weight.

I really won't find it comfortable selling my kind of worn out clothes because they are always completely worn out.
