if you are in a country like mine, that some particular text books can be used for some years by both pupils students, then you can store them away to be used by other upcoming children to save money. My aunt didn't buy new text books for her younger daughter this school session because the eldest daughter used the same text books earlier in the class that are younger sister is now. So since my aunt had kept the books in a good condition when the eldest brought them home after usage, the younger one can use them now as the books are still in good condition and money that would have been used to buy new textbooks is saved.

In my country Philippines, since the start of pandemic specially private schools ( selected only) use Quippper as our textbooks all the subjects were in Quipper
homeworks, quizzes, exams we just turn in whatever tasks given by the teachers.

I have always done that. The textbooks were passed on from.my elder daughter to younger one. My daughters keep their things very neat and maintained. Many other children in the neighborhood could also use those books. I pass it on to others.

In my country, school books are offered by the government regardless of parents' income, everyone has this benefit. The literature books (short stories, novels) that kids have to read for the Portuguese or foreign language subjects are what we have to buy, but I usually order them from the library, and that way they read the books without spending money.

Yeah if your country use certain books year on year out then conserve them for your other children to use to save money.

Textbooks are really struggling expensive nowadays. My mom used to do this and I never understood why. Now I understand and would do it when I have kids.

Parents that regularly practice this save lots of money. I have a relative whose four kids used same books through high school. Imagine he had to buy these books for them separately.

The educational curriculum is only changed after every four years in my country. If you have kids that their age difference is within four years old, they can use the same books after each other.

That's why you can still use the old books that was used by another person for a new person. This way you are saving money.

When you get to my family house, my parents have a library that they use to store our old books. All of us recycled books among ourselves.

Was able to understand and pass some courses in university because my elderly uncle gave me some books he had used in his time two decades from the time.
