Used batteries can be used in Wall Clock

Postby Vehlijanta » 28 Feb 2023, 15:23

There is no home that does not have a TV or direct to home service and in that you use batteries to operate and when these batteries stop working in remote control then these can be used in Wall clocks and you can save money this way.

Our TV remote use smaller batteries than wall clock so it is not possible to even test this.

No they are not dead. You can use these in things that does not require more power to work.

We used to do that and have stopped because many times these used batteries start to leak after some time

Yes I usually do this most times but if you noticed you would realize that these used batteries do not last long on these wall clocks.

That doesn't seem worth doing then. It's a problem if your wall clock stops because the battery has run out, and you don't realise and get the time wrong. I wouldn't want to have to keep checking whether it was still working all the time.

Putting new batteries in wall clocks will usually work well for a year or more. Putting older used batteries in the clock might last a month if you are lucky. It hardly seems worth the effort to use old batteries in clocks if you have to change them every month. I usually need the correct time a lot more often (like for appointments or getting to an event on time) than I need a remote to work when I sit down. Some people actually need a reliable clock just to get to work on time. This idea does not work well for me. :(

I have done so at times. However, after some time, one has to go and buy new batteries.
We can however save money for a few days.

LoL true, that's just the down side about this cause like it or not the battery life has been used up, so whatever is left when you use it for a wall clock would just last for a few days or there about.

If those spent batteries start to carrode they can damage the clock beyound repair and your cost will be much greater than a couple of batteries.
