Never tell your complete income to your friends or relatives

Postby Yugocean » 01 Mar 2023, 06:53

Whatever you earn, you can make a budget for the right expenditures, but it also happens that all the people in the house are not sensible; they can only consider money as a means of expenditure. Apart from this, friends and relatives can also ask for money from you, which will harm your budget.

I agree with this but I would also add judegement from your relatives. If you say you earn $1 per day on PTP most will laugh. since it is small amount. To many people still think money grow on Internet and you just need download it.
Another example, if you say you invest into crypto everybody say you will be scamed or you throw money. On other side some will think you are already millioner.

No matter what you do, like author say don't tell you your income plans to anybody. Maybe your wife. :D

Keep your income and your future plans for yourself or just tell them to very close relatives that you know wish the best for you. If some people know how much I earn they would definitely ask me for money, some will envy me while others will think I earn too little and will be happy with that. Keeping that information for ourselves is a way to protect ourselves.

It's ethnically bad to ask someone their income and some people still keep asking so better to lie to them

I don't involve my family with anything I do online (except maybe Facebook or emailinng them), because I determined years ago it was a waste of time. Your analogy is funny to me, because I do just download money from the Internet and I am already a Satoshi Multi-Millionaire, so it would really drive them nuts.

Since age is no longer creeping up on me, but rushing in like an NFL ball carrier on 4th down from the 1 yard line. it's very simple.

No need to give them exact figure because they will start giving you unnecessary suggestions to invest here and there or will ask for money

I agree with you on that. I think the some information must be kept confidential cause they are too personal. Matters like how much salary one is earning that should be kept as a secret.

My parents didn't have the habit to disclose such details to friends and taught me this way, as among many towns and cities in my former country there is the unpleasant habit to do the accounts in other people's pocket. Obviously, mostly with the intention to ask for money, exploring friends.

Bad habit by people to look at other people's money, better they not know which is not theirs. There even family members can tell their 'friends' if they know your income, so never disclosing to anyone is best.

it's unfortunate that some people are just entitled, you don't have any business with another pay check. They have no business asking for your money so you can save what you have.

Sometimes people themselves tell others or boast, there they too get others involved, this isn't good either.

They can ask all they want, they aren't getting a penny of my hard-earned money! On a serious note, I totally agree because I'm not a huge fan of sharing too much about my earnings, anyway. It invites all manner of issues, and some people start having expectations of how you should spend it. Ridiculous!

Many naïve people fall for such clever people who live on other people's money, your point made that those cleverbies need to be shown door.
