Indeed in the family i grew up in, when we have enough money, we usually buy in bulk. In my country the cost of things are not stable. You could buy something for a particular price only to come back the next day to hear a different price. So it would save you a lot to buy what you want in bulk.

It will always depend on the products, I know one person who at the time of the pandemic bought a lot of rice and pasta (among other things) to avoid going to the grocery store too often. It was a bad option because over time the rice and pasta caught small insects and ended up in the trash.
