I have observed it's the weekends only when we spend the most money because we like to party and enjoy and if we can relax at home with our friends and family then it'll be time best spent and you will save money.

Very good idea to save money. I also do the same thing, I always carry large bottles of drinks and enough food when traveling far away, we no longer need to spend money on food and drinks, except for money to go to the toilet.

You are absolutely right. Most people tend to spend more during the weekends. This is because they see it as the time to release themselves from stress and anything else so they go out and party and do all sort of things that would require then spending. If family live in same city in nearby area then it remain very relaxed approach to send weekend with them, but if they live far away from us in other country then it's better to spend weekends with our close friends.

Let's see, a flight from Oregon to Anchorage, Alaska, then to Charlotte, North Carolina, Down to Eugene, Oregon, there goes our yearly budget and that's only three of our six kids. We did spend dinner with two of our kids families and every tenth of my birthdays we try to all get together.
