Someone's Garbage can be your Treasure

Postby Vehlijanta » 25 Mar 2023, 15:29

Many people have the habit to throw away things they don't want. For example old radio or TV or any furniture due to any reason and many times my neighbor also did that. I always keep looking at the things he throws out and have got many useful things that I can reuse. You can do the same.

Unfortunately, garbage sales isn't a thing here, nobody does it.
I have family living abroad that has some great things that they found in the garbage but I think I wouldn't be capable of going to mess with the garbage.

In my new country, the habit is to donate one's old stuff for church bazaars and the income coming from the sales goes to charity purposes. In this way, there's no garbage where to search for, but people can purchase at low and very low prices. In my case, I decided to open a thrift street shop, as by law I have the permission to add such an activity with no costs to my small business. I still own my grandmother's, my parent's and their friend's stuff, still in good condition, that I couldn't sell in my former country. I still own my old stuff in good condition, so I opened the thrift street shop this January. People here like very much things coming from Europe, so it's fairly easy to sell, compared to my former country.

There are some of those stores here and we can find some pretty good stuff there, I like old furniture and there are some beautiful pieces that can be found in those stores. Here it is also very common second-hand clothes, shoes and bags stores, some things are completely new and can be bought at more than 60% off their original price.

Yes, what I''m selling is exactly second-hand clothes, shoes and bags, but also accessories like hair stuff and fashion imitation jewellery. These latter and hair stuff are the favourite among Brazilian women.
