Furniture is one of the things that everyone likes to have in their house but if you go for it's purchase from a popular store then you cannot expect any savings. If you want to save money on corvette purchase then better to go for garage sale, Yard sale or buy from facebook marketplace because many times you can find the used furniture at a very cheap price.

I never buy furniture from garage sale, we either make through carpenter, or buy new.
Only when emergency, we go for garage sale.

As far as I am concerned, I prefer buying the timber from the yard and have the furniture I need designed by the carpenter for and pay them the labour charges.

Instead of fighting crowds on a compressed schedule at Garage Sales, you can also find good deals on furniture at larger thrift stores that are open longer hours.

Wow, this can later be sold as a new one because of its rebranding ,while people won't even know about that because it looks new.

Buying furnitures from garage sales is not really a bad idea though, you can actually save lots of money from this. But you just have to make sure the furnitures are actually still in good conditions or at least can be repaired with little cash. So you wont have to spend too much in repairing.

I've bought secondhand furniture before and it is a good way to save money. I've never bought it from yard sales though. That could work as long as you have a big enough vehicle to transport it.

I have bought used furniture and got a good upholster to touch it and it looked amazingly new. Used it for years and gave it out.

Yeah this is how it should be just get the fairly used ones than buying ones at a high price. Saving money here will he very possible

Garage purchases are most times not subject to taxes which makes you to save the money you would have spent on taxes.

Unfortunately, there is a major caveat in buying used furniture if any of it is upholstered.

We were looking for a new couch, but "new" in the stores was way out of our budget. We started looking at garage and yard sales and found a very nice looking couch at a very low price. We were happy to load it up and take it home.

Problems came up in less than a week. We were being attacked by bedbugs and discovered the interior of the couch had a huge nest of them. We ended up taking it out for the trash after that for a total loss. We went back to where we bought it, but found they had moved away after their sale. We were just plain screwed. We also had the expense of cleaning the entire apartment to track down critters who had traveled from that couch. The end cost was more than buying a new couch at full retail price.

Be sure to carefully inspect any upholstered furniture for infestations before you buy. It is truly a sample of buyer beware.

Garage sales is always a risk. That is why I always make sure I only buy at incredibly low prices that if it turns out bad, the loss won't affect me.

I am yet to experience buying anything from Garage sale but have heard people buying good furniture and other things at a very low price
