Some stores gives good discount to customers that shop to their spending thresholds. You would be offered a percentage discount if you spend to a certain minimum amount in the store. You can find out the minimum amount then save up to buy from that store at a time to get the discount that comes with the threshold and viola! you would have saved yourself some money.

It often does save to buy in bulk, however you also need to be careful and check the cost per unit. Sometimes stores such as large supermarkets will sell multi-packs with a larger quantity, e.g. a ten pack, at a greater price per unit than individual items. Take your time to do your calculations and work out what is the best value per unit.

Some seller charge commission for buying large amount of quantities, so one have to be careful too. I avoid such sellers.

Yeah you need to check that there are not sales gimmick or a ripoff but if it is a genuine discount for a certain threshold purchase then you can go ahead.

The thresholds offered by stores to have a discount is not small money. I won't chase that If the discount on offer is not enough to compensate for high threshold of spending.

One really has to be very careful with thresholds for spending. Unless you intentionally wanted to buy and use a large quantity. You might end up buying what you don't need to meet threshold.
