A Dollar store may not be available at every location but we can always find similar shops like we used to have stores where we can buy all products at Rs. 75 which is almost a dollar so we can find some useful things in that budget and we all know if we can buy something great in a dollar then it would be a great deal.

My local Dollar Tree is changing yet again.

A roommate went into the store this week to buy some items thinking $1.25 for this and that.

She was charged about $4.00 for some food!

She questioned the cashier.

She was told the store is going to be carrying higher quality items. The name is going to change yet again.

I think dollar stores are good for small gadgets, but I would not buy food or electronics there. The food there is lower quality because of the lower price. The electronics also don't last very long and are usually off-brands so there isn't a reliable warranty.

My favorite "dollar" ($1.50) store in the US is Daiso which carries a lot of Asian/Japanese items. I find that the quality there is better than normal dollar store items, but I don't think they are nationwide.

I was referring more to things like meat or vegetables. Small snacks may be ok if they are from a well-known brand. But I personally avoid off-brand food items from dollar stores.

I think the dollar store is not available in my country. I have not heard of it neither have I seen it somewhere here.

Unfortunately in my country things are very expensive and have almost the same retailing prices in almost every store here. You may find a very non legible difference in prices.

In the UK, we call them Pound shops, and I love them... you can pick up some good brands for a bargain. I used to mix and match and get some things, particulary cleaning stuff from Pound shops. Sadly, we don't have those types of stores in Botswana yet I strongly believe they'd flourish here

These kind of shops are special cases. Never heard or seen one all my life. If I could find, would make it a proper business buying from there.

There are similar shops in Australia. I go there sometimes, depending on what I'm shopping for. They're good for things like cheap craft supplies for kids, garden stuff and stationery. Not so much clothing because it looks poorly made and I don't think it will last.

I believe that kind of shop would be limited on the variety of things they sell given the pricing so that they can make profits.

These stores help us find the products at a low price and will help us save money as we can buy products worth more than $2 at $1 only
