Don't overspend on education

Postby Yugocean » 28 Apr 2023, 09:46

Education has become a business nowadays; its purpose is not to develop a person's personality, but it has become necessary to have a degree for any job; hence, it is a compulsion.

You also have to educate yourself for your future and income, but this education should be according to your needs. It shouldn't be that your job is to manage your shop, and you keep paying for university to get a PhD degree. It should not happen that you need only a graduate degree to get the job; do a postgraduate for that.

In the business of education, achieve only what is necessary.

Universities are quite expensive nowadays, there are so degrees that add nothing to our future, and only count as curriculum but some aren't valued by employers. you are right, better just pay for degrees that will help us in the future otherwise it is better to invest the money we will spend on graduation.

I love your logic , it is not that one should not educate themselves but you should go for the ones that are necessary

Just go for what you can afford. It is not about the name of school or amount of tuition paid, it is about your effort to know.

So many people don't even need a college degree. They would just have waste money and time to get a degree that they might not use because they might have successful businesses. Don't spend money on what you don't need.

Education should not be taken as something that can guarantee someone's job but something that can help one to live so nicely with the people.

Immediately I got admitted into the university, I started looking for and sitting for several scholarship exams and by my second year, I was awarded a scholarship for the remaining 3 years. That really saved me thousands if Dollars.

When you hear the ridiculous amounts of money people spend on tertiary education tuition in my country, you would think that a four figure job is already waiting for them after graduation. I just go to basic schools and would send my kids too to basic Schools.

My uncle spend much more on his son's education. He did this against his will as he was interested in business but due to this over spending they collapse and their savings remain very less. Furthermore the over educated person didn't get good job.

The funny part is that the chap didn't get a job. That's why I went straight to working than spending money taking up Masters degree after my Bachelor's degree.

This is always the reality. You just have to spend less now for education instead spend more on acquiring skills.

This education scam racket can only be tackled if people stop paying for these education mafias by only spending as much as necessary.

Making degrees non-mandatory for getting a high-paying job or building a career would be the first nail in the coffin. Though there are public schools where education is almost free in our country, most parents do not enroll their kids there because of fear of not getting enough education.

Homeschooling is another technique that parents used to teach back in the century that is cost-efficient yet proved to be a good way to educate a child.

Furthermore, if any of the parents stay in the house and can give enough care to the kid and they themselves are educated enough, they can surely make their children educated by imparting necessary education

For me, with the current life in my country there no need to be a degree holder for you to secure a good job. It's depends who you know on the organisations.

This is called planning and you should educate yourself as per your requirements and not for the sake of getting a degree

In my country, the popular mantra is that you must go to college to have a life. And it has turned out that college is waste of money nowadays. High school is enough.
